Chana pulao is a one-pot spiced chickpea rice which tastes delicious with yoghurt. It can be eaten on its own ,with yogurt or raita but goes well with a vegetable curry or even a simple salad.

Instructions

Step 1
Peel and chop the onion and chop the tomato.
Step 2
Place the pot on a medium heat, add the oil and saute onions until they soften and change colour.
Step 3
Add the chopped tomato and all the spices.
Step 4
Add 50 ml of water and cook for a few minutes .
Step 5
Add the chickpeas and further cook for a minute.
Step 6
Add rice and the remaining water, cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat for 20 minutes.
