Step 1
Combine raisins, sugar, and fill water to top of rainins
Step 2
High heat until you reach a rolling boil, stirring occasionally
Step 3
Make rue with cornstarch and add to boiling mixture and whisk until thickened (if needed do 1 tbls at a time of cornstarch rue to get the desired consistency)

Add orange extract and stir

Cool mixture before placing in fridge overnight until mixture is set ( should be a gel like consistency that you can use a cookie scoop to place on cookie dough)

Cream shortening and brown sugar together until smooth
Step 7
Add all other ingredients except flour and mix

Once smooth add flour and combine
Step 9
Roll out dough to desired thickness and cut your circles. I use the pampered chef cut and seal tool. Make the perfect size cookie and then crimps your edges
Step 10
Use small cookie scoop to place on bottom cookies and then place the top cookie and crimp
Step 11
Bake at 350 for 10-12 min
