Instructions
Step 1
Peel and slice the potatoes and slice or dice the ham. Layer in casserole dishes.
Step 2
Heat milk over medium heat with 4 oz of butter, stirring occasionally until the butter is melted.
Step 3
Slice the remaining 4 oz of butter and place over the potatoes and ham.
Step 4
Pour the milk and butter mixture over potatoes, covering completely.
Step 5
Bake uncovered at 425 for 1 hour, and stir.
Step 6
Lower oven temperature to 375 and bake for 1 additional hour, or until most of the liquid is absorbed and the potatoes are fork tender.
Step 7
Season to taste with salt and pepper, serve and enjoy.
