Instructions
Step 1
Heat first amount of water and bouillon cubes in a large pot. Stir to dissolve.
Step 2
Add remaining ingredients except beef. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer slowly for about 1 1/2 hours.
Step 3
Add beef and simmer for 1/2 hour more. Makes about 22 cups (5L).
Hamburger Soup
Step 4
Omit chopped roast beef. Scramble fry 2lbs (1kg) lean ground beef. Add to soup halfway through cooking. Part ground beef and part roast beef may be used also.
