Ingredients: 750g ripe tomatoes, roughly chopped; 300ml passata or tomato juice; 2 tbsp red wine vinegar; 1 tbsp olive oil; a few drops Tabasco (optional); 1 red onion, finely chopped; half cucumber, chopped small; 1 green pepper, deseeded and finely chopped; large bunch fresh basil, torn; freshly ground black pepper; ice cubes, to serve
