Upma is a popular as well as a traditional South Indian breakfast dish made from roasted semolina or cream of wheat (suji or rava in Hindi) cooked with tempered mustard seeds, cumin seeds, lentils, curry leaves, onion, ginger, green chilies, creating a soft, savory, and lightly spiced dish often enjoyed with coconut chutney or pickle. It is also known as Rava Upma. This Upma recipe makes for a really delicious and tasty breakfast.
