Tomato Spinach Sausage Pasta Recipe

A bit too spicy for my family. But everything else was good. I would adjust the recipe quite a bit to get it to a flavor my kids will tolerate

To be fair, I made it without the spicy side. No Cayenne or Chili Flakes. I need to find something to give it more flavor in their absence. Also, I messed up on using the wrong kind of sausage.

Delicious! I didn’t add the cayenne or chili flakes and I only added about 1/2 tsp of paprika and 1/4 pepper. We loved this dinner so much, I wish I had doubled it. My kids loved everything but the tomatoes.

Added a chopped shallot and some basil, used a bit less cayenne, and subbed tomato purée for tomato paste. Tasty and would make again.

Added black olives, basil and topped with parmesan.

I used sweet Italian sausage instead of mild or spicy since I have a 1.5 year old. And instead of tomato purée I used about 4 tbsp of tomato paste and used some of the pasta water to make a sauce. I also added in about a cup of spaghetti sauce since I already had that in my pantry. Came out very good though and my daughter gobbled it up.

I added in only a 1/4 tsp of cayenne and it still had a slight burning affect. I will add just a sprinkle next time, but otherwise it was pretty tasty.

I didn't have tomato puree, so I used tomato paste. I also added an orange bell pepper I had on hand that needed used. For the pasta I used fettuccine. I will make it again.

There was not that much sauce. I did have to use tomato paste because I did not have tomato purée, but I added pasta water and I think it tasted fine. By adding the pasta water, I had more sauce. It was an easy dinner, so this is a meal that would be good to have during the busy weekday.

Literally one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. I omitted the Chilli flakes to make it more kid friendly and I didn't miss it at all. I also made sure to use some of the pasta water to loosen the sauce a bit before I combined the pasta and the sauce. It made for a very good dish.

Quick, easy, tastes good - this wins all round ☺️ perfect amount of kick to it. Easy weeknight dinner... We'll have this again.
