Mexicali Hashbrown Taco Casserole

Easy and quick to make. Go to family favourite.

Delicious, I added roasted problano pappers, and tomatillos to it as well as chorizo and a can of tomatos and chilis.

It was a decent base dish. I feel like you could add several things to make it better. It was not bad but not great.

Website for recipe was a pain with pop-ups and recipe disappearing. I finally grabbed a screenshot and managed from that. Recipe was ok. Maybe I needed to use more ground beef. Saw another recipe online that called for cheddar cheese soup instead. Might have been good too. Probably found this would make a better appetizer than dinner. I also served with rice.

Came out really good. I added diced jalepeños and black beans. This big pan didn't last long. Cilantro and sour cream on top make the flavors pop even more.

tripled the amount it makes (large family) however I did a slight twist by using 1 can of fire roasted diced tomatoes and 2 cans of tomato soup, and the mixture turned out so delicious! It has definitely become a new favorite among this household for sure!

Tweeked the recipe. Double meat, peppers, cream cheese and corn. Make 2 pans. It was awsome. Definitely delicious

Made this for a New Year party and it went really well. I cooked it longer than it called for, about 45 minutes, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great

Used diced tomatoes instead of tomato soup. Found myself wanting more cheese

Very good. Used ground turkey instead of beef. Finished the potatoes under the broiler.

I have a hard time deciding whether or not I would make this again. I like it, but I feel as though it's missing something. It is essentially just a taco mushed out on a plate. My husband thinks perhaps crushed tortilla chips might help. He added paprika during the bake. Laying this out on a tortilla would probably be really good. It ended up being really greasy.

Really good and easy. I mixed everything together, including the hash browns. I did see that baking at 400 for 30 minutes was recommended, and it came out perfectly. I did the corn on the side because the picky person (he’s in his 50’s) likes corn, just not in things. It was a bit too spicy for the granddaughter so I’ll just use half the taco seasoning next time. Maybe add some sour cream as well. Edit so not dry: omitted tomato soup. Added 1 can tomato sauce and 1 can crushed tomatoes. Used whipped cream cheese and 3/4 to 1 cups sour cream.

I will try this with shredded beef and Monterey jack cheese next. VERY filling, good it's more like a taco dip. The hash browns disappeared. everyone needed tortilla chips.

This was great! I forgot to add corn but honestly it was not needed or missed. It was so good and is now being added to our fan favorites

I used tomato sauce instead of soup and Velveeta instead of cheddar

It was slightly salty, but good. I'm sensitive to salt. Substituted ground venison for beef.

Kids loved it. Asked for it to be added to the rotation. I agree with other comment about baking at 400°

Would suggest doing 400° F for 30 or so mins instead of 350°
