Best Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Not the prettiest picture but it's real. A little thin so I added some more cheese. Made enough for 5 bowls and leftovers with the 2 serving measurements. Very yummy, though I probably could've let the cheese melt longer for better texture. Wasn't a bad texture though, just not as smooth as I was expecting. Used for chicken alfredo with homemade fettuccine.

Great flavor, yummy sauce. This will be my go-to for Alfredo.. I sautéed garlic and Italian seasoning in the butter before whisking in the cream. I added a pinch of nutmeg and ladeled pasta water into the sauce until it was at the perfect consistency. We served with breaded chicken breast, broccoli, and Caesar salad.

Delicious but the calorie intake is crazy!!! Special occasion only! Edited to add- froze it in 1/4 cup scoops and added one scoop to red sauce to make a rosee sauce. My family loved it!!! Perfect way to enjoy the flavor without the massive amount of calories!

Add the butter and cream to a large skillet. Simmer over low heat for 2 minutes. Whisk in the garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for one minute. Whisk in the parmesan cheese until melted.

I omit the salt and add pasta water so it's not so thick. Good recipe

Made this a few times and it is super good, but tends to get a bit thick. When using the shakey cheese, use a bit less than what the recipe calles for. Thin out with milk if needed.

I let it simmer for a bit with the garlic butter Italian seasoning and cream. When it reached slightly simmering, I added the white pepper and used a little bit more than a quarter teaspoon. Then I added the cheese to melt. I omitted the salt because I used Romano cheese. I then added freshly grated nutmeg(probably about 1/8 tsp) and a little bit of garlic powder after tasting it while it was very warm and then zested half a lemon. Very tasty!

Very nice sauce. Served with tagliatelle noodles, baked lemon chicken and steamed broccoli. I forgot to snap a photo so here's one of the kiddos portions.

I threw away 2 jars of store bought Alfredo when I was cleaning out the pantry today. I made a mental note to buy more to replace them. Then my old man and I made this with egg noodles for dinner. I crossed out my mental note. I will not be buying jarred Alfredo anymore. If this is what homemade Alfredo tastes like and it's this easy to make, I'm making homemade from now on. This is way better than jarred. This is restaurant quality Alfredo. We eyeballed the seasonings and the cheese and garlic, but still. Yummy. I did not add meat or veggies, and I did not miss them. If you like Alfredo, do yourself a favor. Make this and then throw out all your jarred Alfredo sauces. It's that good.

Made it vegetarian with nutritional yeast! Taste great

Easy on the salt. Add gradually to taste… optional add in sliced mushrooms and tuna (you can thank me later)

Fantastic flavor! Made it again, and this time, I tried the trick someone else recommended and omitted the salt and used some of the pasta water to thin it out a bit, and it was (again) delicious! Served with sautéed veggies. Tonight, I used a finely diced onion, shredded zucchini, and broccoli florets. Talked about adding a protein, but time got away from me. Next time!

Very good both times I made it. Two cups of freshly shredded cheese is a bit ambiguous when it depends on shred size, a weight would have been more helpful

Double recipe. Add stewed tomatoes to make a rose sauce

We make this at least 3 times a month. Add in some flour to make the sauce thicker and then cooked broccoli and mushrooms at the very end and load it up with parm to serve. Family favorite! My husband constantly raves that he has never had a better alfredo and gets super excited when he knows I'm making it.

Roommates loved it. I thought it had a bit of a raw garlicky flavor, so next time I would try sauteing the garlic in the butter before adding the cream

This is an awesome base alfredo sauce! I also add fresh Parsley, and sometimes spinach and broccoli. I measured the garlic with my heart.

For sure go to sauce… it even turned out subbing powdered garlic instead of fresh. Measured seasonings with my heart and I’m not disappointed. So creamy, the fresh Parmesan takes it to that next level. Sauce was thin, I simmered until thick.

I do not care for Alfredo sauce. My partner wanted to have some steak and Alfredo for Valentine's Day. I have to say this was so easy, and so good! I'm an inexperienced amateur chef, and this was almost impossible to mess up.

i made a crab alfredo. the recipe was really easy and good, i was pretty loose on the ingredients especially the garlic. definitely gonna have to use real parmesan next time

I pan cooked 3 chicken breast salt, pepper, and butter for 8 min on one side and about 7 min on the other. Build fettuccine noodles and eat with a side of steam broccoli.

Serve with ravioli, steamed broccoli and sides of chicken sausage

Added air fryer cooked chicken breasts and black olives. I'd make more sauce next time.

This really tastes like Olive Garden. Super yummy and we started making this instead of bottled which of course is easier but not near as delicious.

I added Sautéed mushrooms, cajon seasoning and green onions. Came out perfect!

Really tasty and really easy. I used basil, oregano, nutmeg and parsley to season, along with lots of black pepper. I reduced the amounts of everything by about a third, and the amount of cheese by half. Very American portions otherwise lol can't imagine eating 400 grams of butter in one go

Made this due to the rave reviews and it did not disappoint (although how can you go wrong with butter, heavy cream and parmesan cheese). So good! The recipe said two servings so I did 2 cups of heavy cream and a little extra parmesan for a 16 oz bag of fettuccine. My hubby, myself and my 7- and 4-year-olds ate and we still had a half pan left. I did add fresh baby spinach for a vegetable and rotisserie chicken for a protein.

Great base for sauce! I'll be using it alot. This time I subbed the parm cheese for cream cheese and cracked(ranch season mix) it for flavor for a chicken broccoli alfredo! So yummy
