Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to create the marinade.
Step 2
Place the pork chops in a shallow dish or a ziplock bag, and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the pork chops are well coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or you can refrigerate them for a few hours for enhanced flavor.
Step 3
Heat some vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Step 4
Remove the pork chops from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off, and place them in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the pork chops.
Step 5
While the pork chops are cooking, you can brush them with some of the leftover marinade to add more flavor and glaze.
Step 6
Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and keeps the meat moist.
Step 7
Garnish the pork chops with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added freshness and crunch.
Step 8
Serve the Asian fusion pork chops hot with steamed rice or noodles, and your choice of stir-fried vegetables or a side salad.
