Step 1
Wash lentils and sauté in 1 tsp olive oil with seasoning for one minute. Add water bring to a boil cover and reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes. While that’s going thinly slice onions and sauté them in half a cup of olive oil over medium low heat for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. After lentils simmer for 15 minutes add washed rice and continue to simmer for an additional 15 minutes. After 15 minutes cut the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes. To make the sauce sauté garlic in olive oil for 2 minutes then add vinegar seasoning and tomato sauce. Stir over medium heat until hot then cut the heat. Fluff the rice with a fork then to serve plate rice top with cooked pasta then the sauce and finally the caramelized onions. Serve and enjoy!
