Instructions
Step 1
Boil beets for 45 min. Separately, peel & boil potatoes and carrots for 25 min.
Step 2
Once cooked, peel and grate beets. Set aside. Peel and grate potatoes and carrots.
Step 3
Using a 9x13 baking dish, layer bottom with grated potatoes.
Step 4
Then add a second layer of diced onion. Then add a third layer of smoked herring.
Step 5
Mix Mayo with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6
Next add a layer of mayo (with salt and pepper). On top of mayo, layer grated carrots.
Step 7
Last of all, place layer of shredded beets on top and place final layer of Mayo on top of beets. Smooth mayo across top until light purple. Top with dill.
Step 8
Refrigerate several hours before serving.
