Homemade Barbecue Sauce

I Never liked barbecue sauce until I made my own homemade version. It’s super easy to make and stores easy in sterilized containers in the fridge for up to ten days . Use as a marinade as a dipping sauce or however you fancy .

Instructions

Step 1
Score the tomatoes then put in simmering water for 2 minutes . Remove from the water peel the skins off then chop them roughly and set aside . Alternatively use 1 x 400 g can of chopped tomatoes
Step 2
Fry a diced onion in olive oil until a little colored then add crushed garlic mustard powder chili powder salt pepper and stir . Toast a minute then add the chopped tomatoes

Step 3
To the tomatoes Add white wine vinegar Worcestershire sauce and honey or maple syrup if you want to keep it vegan. Stir and simmer on medium heat 15 minutes then push through a sieve to make smooth and store in sterilized bottles or jars in the fridge . Use within ten days and enjoy
