Instructions
Step 1
Combine sugar, yeast, and warmed (~90-110°) milk in bowl of stand mixer. Rest about 5 minutes until foamy
Step 2
Using a dough hook attachment- add flour in 2 parts, allowing time for incorporation
Step 3
Add butter and knead on medium high for 5-7 minutes until soft and smooth
Step 4
Transfer dough to greased bowl, cover, and proof for 1 hour
Step 5
Dough dough, roll out onto floured surface, and divide dough evenly in 6 pieces
Step 6
Roll individual piece out flat with a rolling pin. Add about 2 teaspoons of Nutella to one side of the rolled out piece
Step 7
Fold over far end of dough over Nutella filling, dividing it into thirds. With the tail end still exposed- cut long slits (careful to leave edges intact) perpendicular to the dough creating ribbons. Pull slits over top of dough containing Nutella window to create window effect
Step 8
Place in greased baking pan, cover, and let proof another 30 minutes
Step 9
Brush dough with egg wash before baking at 350°f for 20-30 minutes
