Caramelized onion & herb buttered noodles

Instructions

Step 1
Heat oil in a large sautรฉ pan over med/low heat. Add onions and cook for about 30 minutes or so, stirring occasionally until the onions are jammy and brown. Add thyme, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir (making sure to scape the bottom of the pan!) and let cook for a few more minutes, then set aside to cool. While onions cool, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Be sure to save some pasta water. Add butter, caramelized onions, and whatever herbs vou want to a food processor. Pulse until everything is well combined. Toss the butter mixture with the cooked hot pasta and a little basta water.
