Instructions

Step 1
1. Start by adding 1.5 lbs of ground beef to a large mixing bowl. Crack in 2 whole eggs, and grate in 1/2 a small onion. Add in 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 2 Tbsp ketchup, 1 Tbsp mustard, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 beef bouillon cube, and salt and pepper to preference.

2. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated and it forms a pasty consistency. Be sure to break up any clumps of the beef bouillon. Once everything is mixed together, form 6 equal patties into your desired shape and size and set those aside.

3. Heat 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil in a very large pan over medium-high heat. Once your oil is hot, add in 3 patties at a time. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Don't worry if they are not cooked though the center, you're going to finish them in the gravy. This is just to give them a nice crust.
Step 4
4. After your first 3 patties are done, heat your remaining 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil and cook your remaining 3 patties the same way. Once all 6 patties are done, set them aside.
Step 5
5. Prepare your gravy according to the instructions on the package.
Step 6
6. When your gravy is done, add all 6 of your steaks back into the pan that you seared them in, add in your sliced mushrooms, and pour in your prepared gravy. Cover and cook on medium for about 15-20 minutes, or until steaks are cooked through with no pink remaining in the middle.
Step 7
7. While your steaks are cooking, prepare your mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the package.
Step 8
8. When everything is done, portion out your mashed potatoes, add a Salisbury steak on top, pour over your gravy, and enjoy!
