Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Line the baking pan with parchment paper.
Step 3
Lightly coat the parchment paper lined pan.
Step 4
Set aside.
Step 5
Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
Step 6
Using the electric mixer cream together butter and both sugars until they are combined.
Step 7
Slowly add the egg and vanilla to the bowl beating until completely combined.
Step 8
Add the dry ingredients a little at a time to the wet ingredients beating until they are thoroughly blended.
Step 9
Add chocolate chip stirring to combine and mix within the dough.
Step 10
Divide the dough in half. Press one half into the bottom of the baking pan with your hands. (Leave 1/2 inch gap around the edges of the pan).
Step 11
Unwrap the candy bars. Begin placing them evenly spaced on the top of the first layer of the dough.
Step 12
Top this with the remaining dough.
Step 13
Cover the candy on the first layer. (Both top and sides)
Step 14
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. (Or until the top is golden brown)
Step 15
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
Step 16
Lift the bars out of the pan by using the parchment paper.
Step 17
Cut into squares and serve.
