Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2
stir together potatoes, cheese, sour cream, soup, onion 1/3 cup of the butter, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
Step 3
Pour into a greased shallow 3 quart baking dish.
Step 4
Mix the remaining 1/3 cup butter with the cereal in a small bowl. Sprinkle over potato mixture.
Step 5
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 10 min before serving.
