Instructions
Step 1
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
Step 3
Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 4
Add the flaked smoked herrings and stir for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, thyme, parsley, and Scotch bonnet pepper (if using). Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 7
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine, ensuring that the spaghetti is well-coated with the sauce.
Step 8
Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
