Instructions

Step 1
Bring chicken broth to a boil with spices. Stir in tiny pasta and cook until tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 7 min. Make sure to stir occasionally so that the pasta does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Step 2
While pasta is cooking, whisk egg and grated parmesan and set aside. Keep an eye on the pasta as it often sticks to the pot more as it cooks.
Step 3
When pasta is done, remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted. Then pour in the egg and parmesan mixture, stirring vigorously to ensure the eggs do not scramble. Mix until pasta, egg, and parmesan have been fully combined, and the mixture is slightly thickened.
Step 4
Serve and enjoy! You can optionally add things like breadcrumbs, pesto, or fresh basil to top the pastina.
