Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2
Boil your noodles in heavily salted water for 2 minutes less than package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 3
In a large pot heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5 minutes. Add in garlic and continue to cook for 1 more minute, until fragrant.
Step 4
Add in sausage and beef (you might have to increase the heat a bit here). Season with salt, pepper, and Creole seasoning and sauté until no longer pink.
Step 5
Stir in marinara, and adjust seasoning to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer.
Step 6
While sauce is simmering, combine ricotta, egg, mozzarella, parmesan, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Add in a ladle or two of the meat sauce and combine, then add the cooked ziti and fold in.
Step 7
In a 9x13 baking dish, add a thin layer of meat sauce, followed by half of the noodle mixture. Top with half of the remaining sauce, followed with half your remaining cheese. Repeat once more: noodles, sauce, cheese.
Step 8
Sprinkle parmesan over the top then bake for 15 minutes, then finish under the broiler for 5 minutes.
Step 9
Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan cheese and enjoy!
