Instructions
Step 1
in a large saucepan, lightly cook garlic in olive oil.
Step 2
then, add sliced tomatoes. simmer for a bit until tomatoes begin to break up.
Step 3
then, add wine, vinegar and bay leaves.
Step 4
when this comes to a boil, lower heat and simmer (no lid on pan) until ingredients begin to look like a sauce (about 10 minutes).
Step 5
then, add shrimp. stirring the shrimp while they cook, cook until they cook through thoroughly (stop cooking shrimp as soon as they look cooked so that you do not overcook them. overcooking shrimp will make them rubbery).
Step 6
add butter at the very end to "cream" the dish.
Step 7
allow to sit for 5-10 minutes to marinate all of the ingredients together.
Step 8
in the last 5-10 minutes while the ingredients are marinating together, slice the loaf of bread and place it in a very large bowl.
Step 9
drizzle the cooked ingredients over the bread. serve and enjoy!
Step 10
PS a kilo of shrimp may be a bit too much, but 3/4 may be better. depends on how much shrimp you like to eat. i like a lot of shrimp. you can always add a little more wine and vinegar if the sauce does not look "soupy" enough. it has to be soupy to soak into the bread at the end. i never measure anything. i eyeball the ingredients. but, then i have been doing this dish for a very long time. good luck, kiddo!
