Ingredients

2 lbchuck beef
or round
1 Tbspkitchen bouquet
¼ cupcream of rice
4carrots
2 cupsonions
thinly sliced
1 cupcelery
thinly sliced
2 tspsalt
⅛ tsppepper
1 cupburgundy
or dry red wine
6 ozmushroom crowns
canned, including broth
Instructions
Step 1
Trim excess fat from meat and cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
Step 2
Place meat in a Dutch oven and toss in kitchen bouquet coating the meat on all sides.
Step 3
Mix in cream of rice
Step 4
Cut carrots in quarters lengthwise and in half crosswise. Then add in carrots and remaining ingredients.
Step 5
Mix all ingredients together gently.
Step 6
Cover and bake in a preheated 325° oven until meat and vegetables are tender (about 2 1/2 hours). Make sure to stir the meat every 30 minutes.
Step 7
Serve with potatoes, rice or noodles.
