🍲 Lamb & Halloumi Pasta🍲
🍲One Pot, One Portion | Lamb & Halloumi Pasta🍲
This dish is entirely inspired by
and her Kiymali Garavolli, a beautiful Turkish-Cypriot lamb and halloumi pasta dish. I can’t tell you how delicious this is.
You need:
- Olive oil
- 1 small white onion, finely diced
- 2 large cloves garlic, finely sliced
- 1 heaped tsp paprika
- 1 heaped tsp ground cumin
- 125g lamb mince
- 80g macaroni
- 1/2 vegetable stock pot
- 350ml water
- salt and black pepper
To serve:
- 30g halloumi, grated
- plain yoghurt
- large pinch of dried mint
- large pinch of chilli flakes
- crispy onions (optional)
Add a drizzle of oil to a pan over a medium heat and cook the onions until soft. Add in the garlic and spices and cook for 2-3 minutes before adding in the lamb mince and cooking for 4-5 minutes until brown.
Add in the pasta, stock and water and cook for 6-7 minutes until the pasta is al dente. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve up and top with the grated halloumi, a couple of dollops of yoghurt, dried mint, chilli and the crispy onions, if using.
