Crispy Tofu and Bean Balls with Vegan Bang Bang sauce

Ingredients
2 servings

200 gramsfirm tofu

2 clovesgarlic
grated

1 Tbspginger
grated

1 tsptoasted sesame oil

1 Tbsplight soy

¾ tspwhite pepper

2scallions
sliced

0.5can butter beans

½ cupcornstarch
For the vegan bang bang sauce
Instructions
Step 1

Remove tofu from packaging then cover in a pot with water and add a good pinch of salt . Bring to a boil and lower the heat and cook ten minutes .

Step 2

Drain the tofu then use paper towels and squeeze out the excess moisture . Add it to a bowl and break it up with your hands ( or you can do it in a food processor ) add garlic ginger sesame oil soy sauce green onions and beans and mash them until they are firm like a falafel dough


Step 3

Roll into balls then roll each one in cornstarch and fry in a pan with hot oil on both sides until golden and crispy . Don’t move them around too much until they form the crispy skin at the bottom so that they won’t break apart . Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil or air fry at 200 c / 400 f for 10 minutes

Step 4

Mix all ingredients for the sauce together then dunk the tofu bean balls in and enjoy
