Instructions

Step 1
In a shallow dish whisk together the oil , soy sauce, maple syrup, paprika and liquid smoke until well combined then add the tempeh slices and flip to coat on all sides and then allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb the marinade
Step 2
Pre heat your air fryer to 375* F
Step 3
Once heated add the tempeh in a single layer and reserve the maranade and cook for 5 minutes flip and brush with the remaining marinade and cook for another 3-5 minutes or until the edges are brown and crispy
Step 4
Meanwhile in a bowl stir together the mayo lemon zest and garlic until combined and set aside
Step 5
Then toast your bread in the air fryer for 2-4 minutes flipping once until golden brown
Step 6
Assemble the sandwiches and season with salt and pepper and refrigerate leftovers enjoy
