Instructions
Step 1
In large skillet with hot oil, saute ham over medium-high heat about 2 minutes.
Step 2
Stir in rice, water, salt, and thyme.
Step 3
Bring to a boil; reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes until rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Step 4
Stir 1/2 cup cheese into rice. Cook until cheese melts.
Step 5
Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Serve at once.
