Instructions

Step 1
Preheat your air fryer to 190°C for 3–5 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the beef mince, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently—don’t overwork the meat. Form into 4 equal patties (about 4 inches wide and ¾ inch thick). Press a small indent in the centre of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing.
Step 3
Place patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 190°C for 8–10 minutes for medium (flip halfway through). Add 1-2 more minutes if you prefer well-done.
Step 4
If using cheese, add a slice on each patty during the last 1–2 minutes of cooking. Close the air fryer (no need to turn it on) and let the residual heat melt the cheese.
Step 5
Toast buns if desired. Assemble burgers with your favourite toppings.
