Potato Gratin

1.25kgpotatoes

1 cupthickened cream

1.5 tspncooking salt

2cloves garlic
finely minced

1 tspnthyme
finely chopped

0.25 tspnblack pepper

1 cupgruyère cheese grated

2 tbspnunsalted butter
cut into cubes
Lemon Garlic Marinade
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
Gratin
Step 2
Peel and slice potatoes and lay in baking dish
Step 3
Add a splash of water to potatoes, cover and microwave for 10 minutes to soften potatoes
Step 4
Mix together all other gratin ingredients except butter
Step 5
Drain excess water from potatoes and cover with mixed gratin ingredients, and then dollop spots of butter onto top of gratin, and bake in oven until lightly golden brown.
Step 6
While potatoes are in microwave and oven prepare marinade and coat salmon on top and sides but not bottom
Step 7
Place salmon on top of gratin, and place potato and salmon under grill for approx 10 minutes. Internal temperature of salmon should be 60 degrees for medium, measured using a meat thermometer.
Step 8
Remove from the grill and immediately transfer salmon to serving plates. Rest for 3 minutes then serve with potato gratin and a green salad.
