Instructions
Step 1
In a medium saucepan, bring the water, evaporated milk, and salt to a boil.
Step 2
Add and stir in the oatmeal, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice into the hot liquids.
Step 3
Reduce heat to medium and cook uncovered for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Turn off the heat, add and stir in the vanilla extract and cover the pot with a lid.
Step 5
Continue to let the oatmeal cook for about 10 more minutes or until your desired consistency is reached.
Step 6
Add brown sugar or maple syrup and butter and ground cinnamon (if desired).
