Instructions

Step 1
Boil onion in a covered 1-quart saucepan in water until tender. Do not drain.
Step 2
Add tomatoes, tomato puree or sauce, garlic powder, oregano and pepper to onions.
Step 3
Simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors.
Step 4
Place chicken in frying pan. Pour tomato mixture over chicken and cook covered on low heat for 45 mins.
Step 5
Uncover and cook 15 more minutes to thicken tomato sauce. Make sure chicken has reached an internal temp of 165F
