Ingredients

¼ cupall-purpose flour

¼ tspsalt

¼ tspblack pepper

1 lbboneless beef chuck steak
trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

1 Tbspolive oil

2cans beef broth

1can diced tomatoes
undrained

1 lbbeets
peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces

1 cupred-skin potatoes
cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1 cupturnip
peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces

½ cuponion
chopped

¼ cupporcini mushrooms
broken

1 Tbspfresh dill
snipped

1 Tbspred wine vinegar

1 Tbsptomato paste

¼ tspcaraway seeds

2 cupspurple cabbage
shredded

½ cupcarrots
coarsely shredded

½ cupsour cream
Instructions
Step 1
In a plastic bag, mix flour, ¼ tsp of the salt and pepper. Add meat pieces, a few at a time, shaking to coat.





Step 2
In a large skillet, brown meat, half at a time, in hot oil.
Drain off oil.



Step 3
In crock pot, combine meat, remaining ½ tsp salt, and the next 11 ingredients. Cover and cook 8 or 9 hours.














Step 4
If using low heat, turn to high. Stir in cabbage and carrots. Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes or until tender.



Step 5
Top servings with raw cabbage and dill.
Add sour cream.
