Instructions

Step 1
Sprinkle the yeast over 1/4 cup of lukewarm milk and stir to dissolve.
Step 2
Combine the flour and salt, then add the remaining milk and egg.
Step 3
Add the yeast mixture and the sultanas and apple. Mix well
Step 4
Cover with a damp tea towel and let stand in a warm place until it doubles in size. About 2 hours.
Step 5
Heat the oil for deep frying. Scoop and fry about 5 at a time, roughly 10 minutes each, or until golden brown.
Step 6
Dust with icing sugar to serve
