Ingredients
8 servings
1 lbsground turkey
90/10, cook in a pan and season with pepper to your liking, I got quite heavy on the garlic and onion
seasoned salt
garlic powder
onion powder
1yellow onion
small
1can black beans
1can mild chili beans
WITH the sauce poured in, too
2cans fire roasted diced tomatoes
1 cupchicken stock
or any broth
5 Tbspchili seasoning
1orange bell pepper
5 Tbspcumin
1can great northern beans
1can light red kidney beans
Instructions
Step 1
cook 1-1.5lbs of turkey in a pan and season with pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder to your liking (I got quite heavy on the garlic and onion)
Step 2
cook onion & bell pepper - cut up half or whole of each, saute in the meat pan (can add with the meat, or I prefer to do it after the meat - it is a little crispier that way)
Step 3
add both to crock pot or stick pot
Step 4
add in 4-6 cans of strained and rinsed beans (any mix of styles is fine - I usually have black, dark red, light red, kidney, garbanzo)
Step 5
add in 1-2 cans of chili beans WITH the sauce poured in, too
Step 6
add in 2 cans of tomatoes (I use fire roasted ones)
Step 7
add 1-2 cups of chicken stock or any broth (I usually start with a cup and then add more later if it seems to need more liquid)
Step 8
finally, season with chili seasoning and cumin (I got very heavy on these, probably 5 tablespoons of each) and let it simmer in either crock pot or stock pot for as long as you can wait
