A wholesome, diabetic- and cholesterol-friendly spaghetti bolognese recipe designed to be anti-inflammatory while still rich and comforting. It uses lean ground beef, plenty of vegetables, and a light touch of cheese for flavor without excess saturated fat.

Instructions
Step 1
Dice onion, carrot, and celery. Mince garlic.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened, about 5–7 minutes.

Add lean ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking up clumps with a spoon.
Step 4
Stir in canned tomatoes, oregano, basil, thyme, and black pepper. Simmer gently for 25–30 minutes until sauce thickens.
Step 5
Meanwhile, cook wholewheat spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain.
Step 6
Toss spaghetti with sauce or serve sauce ladled over pasta.
Step 7
Sprinkle lightly with reduced-fat Parmesan and garnish with parsley.
