Instructions
Step 1
Peel the bananas, slice them into rounds, place them in a freezer-safe container or bag, and freeze for at least 6 hours.
Step 2
Soak the almonds in enough water for at least 6 hours. Drain the soaking water before using.
Step 3
Add the soaked almonds and 1/4 cup water to a blender. Blend until smooth to make fresh almond milk.
Step 4
Add the frozen bananas, deseeded dates, tightly packed mint leaves, cacao powder, and 1 1/4 cups water to the same blender.
Step 5
Blend for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture becomes thick, creamy, and completely smooth. If it is too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water at a time.
Step 6
Taste the smoothie. If the bananas are very sweet, you can reduce the dates next time.
Step 7
Pour the smoothie evenly into 2 serving bowls.
Step 8
Top with pomegranate seeds, cacao nibs or roasted chopped almonds, and garnish with fresh mint sprigs. Serve immediately while cold.
