Step 1
Blend onions into a paste
Step 2
Blend tomatoes, green chillies and yoghurt into a paste
Step 3
Fry onion paste in some oil until it changes colour and add ginger and garlic pastes. After a minute, add chicken and cook on high heat till it changes colour.
Step 4
Add the spices (salt, red chilli flakes, coriander, cumin, turmeric and achar powder). I used whole masala but you can add 2 tbsp of packet achar gosht masala too.
Step 5
Once the masala cooks, add the paste with tomatoes, yoghurt and green chillies
Step 6
Continue to cook on high heat until a gravy is formed, water has dried and the oil comes up
Step 7
Score some green chillies and add them to the karahi along with some fresh coriander
Step 8
Serve with naan or roti
