Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Slice the apple in half and remove the core. Rub the cut side with coconut oil and place in a small baking dish, cut side up. Place in the oven for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the crumble by placing the buckwheat, almonds, coconut, almond meal, coconut sugar, cinnamon and salt in a small food processor and pulse until the nuts are broken up into small pieces.
Step 3
Add in the coconut oil and continue to pulse until the crumble becomes slightly wet and sticky. It doesn’t need to be blended too much, just enough to disperse the coconut oil.
Step 4
Remove the apples from the oven and carefully heap and press the crumble on top of the cut side of the apples. A few crumbles may fall off which is fine.
Step 5
Return to the oven for 10 minutes until the crumble becomes golden and fragrant. Serve.
