Mutton Handi is one of the most easiest and delicious recipe of mutton /lamb ever. This is traditionally slow cooked in a Handi or an earthen pot. Mutton along with other ingredients add in a pot and slow cook until meat is tender.

Instructions

Step 1
This is one pot dish.Use any stovetop terracotta cooking pot.
Step 2
Start with heating the pot for few minutes. Pour mustard oil and heat up.
Step 3
Add mutton with bones and add all other ingredients.
Step 4
Add all spices, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, crushed red chillies, turmeric, chilli powder, kashmiri and chilli powder.
Step 5
Add whole spices, green cardamom pods, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, black cardamom, black peppercorns, and cloves.
Step 6
Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, yogurt, sliced tomatoes, and sliced onions.
Step 7
Now cover and cook on medium low heat for an hour. And don't forget to stir occasionally or every 15/20 minutes.
Step 8
Give it a stir throughly after 30 minutes , so everything is combined together.
Step 9
Close the lid and keep cooking until meat is tender. After an hour, or when meat is completely tender and water almost dries, turn off the heat.
Step 10
It's ready to serve. Enjoy with rice, chappatis or naan.
