Instructions
Step 1
Make the cornbread batter by combining the box ingredients with 1/3 cup melted butter (slightly cooled), 2/3 cup whole milk and 1 large egg. Whisk until smooth
Step 2
Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a skillet until slightly browned and foamy then pour prepared cornbread batter on top and spread out to the edges of the pan
Step 3
Immediately bake in the pan (I used Hexclad's 9 inch skillet) for 25 minutes at 375°F
Step 4
While the cornbread is baking, combine the remaining butter (around 1 cup, softened to room temp), the honey and the cinnamon. Whisk until smooth, creamy and fluffy
Step 5
Let corn bread cool slightly after coming out of the oven. This will make it easier and less messy when cutting into it
Step 6
Cut into 8 "pie" slices and serve warm topped with a teaspoon of the honey butter
