Instructions
Step 1
Blend onion and tomatoes into a paste with some water
Step 2
Add kidney beans, onion, tomato, ginger and garlic pastes along with spices (salt, red chilli flakes, corriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder) and some oil to pressure cooker.
Step 3
Add enough water so that it covers the kidney beans and the level is 1.5 inches above the kidney beans. (Tip: you can put your finger in the water and use the lines on finger as guide. If you add less water, pressure cooker will dry out the masala and might burn it)
Step 4
Close the pressure cooker and turn the stove on to medium heat until it starts whistling
Step 5
When the whistling starts, set a timer for 30 mins and after that, turn the heat off and open the whistle to relieve the built up pressure. (Do not take off the pressure cooker lid until all the pressure has gone)
Step 6
Add chopped green chillies and cook on high heat till you like the consistency
Step 7
Add fresh corriander and garam masala and cover and cook on low heat for 5 mins
Step 8
Serve with roti or boiled rice
