Ingredients
6 servings
1 tablespoonolive oil
1 cupred onion
small, chopped
1celery stalk
chopped small
¼ teaspoongarlic powder
salt
pepper
1 poundlean ground turkey
6 ouncecan tomato paste
1 cupchicken broth
1 tablespoonapple cider vinegar
2 tablespoonsbrown sugar
3 TablespoonsWorcestershire
2 ½ teaspoonschili powder
1 teaspoondry mustard
romaine lettuce leaves
or your favorite, butter lettuce is another great one !)
4 ouncesButterkase Cheese
shredded, Cheddar would be great too!)
Instructions
Step 1
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add the onion and celery. Sprinkle with garlic powder, and a couple cracks of salt and pepper.
Step 3
Cook for 3-5 minutes, until the onion starts to become translucent, and add the ground turkey.
Step 4
Grind it up in the pan using a wooden spoon, and cook all the way through, about 5-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if desired. Reduce heat to medium-low.
Step 5
Add the tomato paste, vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Toss to thoroughly coat.
Step 6
Sprinkle in the chili powder and dry mustard. Mix well.
Step 7
Cover and cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 8
Stir and spoon onto lettuce wraps. Sprinkle with a little cheese and serve. Enjoy!
