Instructions
Step 1
Add dried arbol chilies to a container and fill with hot water. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes to re-hydrate.
Step 2
Add paprika, cumin, fennel seeds, garlic and salt to a bowl. Mix in lemon juice and vinegar until a paste forms.
Step 3
Transfer paste into food processor and add tomato paste.
Step 4
Once chilies have re-hydrated. Drain, cut up and add to food processor.
Step 5
Blend for 1 - 2 minutes scraping sides until combined.
Step 6
Slowly add 1/4 cup of olive oil while blending until a smooth spread is formed
Step 7
Transfer harissa spread into a mason jar and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
