After having weight Loss Surgery and being on a high protein strict low carb, low fat diet I came up with this Waffle bun recipe so that I might enjoy some resemblance of a Cheeseburger or Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This recipe is a derivative of a waffle recipe found in TASTE SUCCESS Protein Recipe Book from Unjury.com You can purchase the protein powder mention in this recipe from unjury.com or your local health food store may have other brands featuring the same flavors. I personally prefer Unjury over all other protein powder mixes. Depending on the flavor profile you're looking for will determine the protein powders you use. example for a grilled chicken sandwich you would use Chicken protein powder. You will need a Mini Waffle maker so that you can keep the waffles more in line with the same size as your chicken or burger patty. **** Tip: You can add shredded mozzarella to the top of the mixture, after pouring it into the waffle maker to create a bit of crust to the top.****
