Dal Dhokli
Dal Dhokli! SAVE IT
I savour this dish with utmost satisfaction each time I have it! It is very close to my heart! You have to try it!
Ingredients:
For the Dal
1 cup Arhar/Toor Dal
Salt to taste
Pinch of turmeric
2 tbs peanuts
Water
1 tbs oil
For the Dhokli
1 cup Atta/Whole wheat flour
1/4 cup Besan/chickpea flour
1/2 red chilli powder
Pinch of turmeric
1/2 coriander powder
1/2 cumin powder
Salt to taste
1 tbs oil
Water as required to make a soft dough
Tadka and finishing
3 tbs oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
Pinch of hing
6-7 curry leaves
2 green chillies
1 chopped tomatoes
Ginger Paste
Masalas: Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder
Salt to Taste
2 tbs Tamrind paste
1 tbs Gur/Jaggery (or please add more if you like it sweet as I definitely did)
2 tps Garam Masala
Ghee
Coriander leaves to Garnish
