Instructions

Step 1
In a bowl, add yogurt, minced garlic, lemon, oil and all spices mix and set aside the shawarma spice mix for now.

Pat dry the the chicken thighs and cut into thin strips.

Place the chicken in a mixing bowl and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight (if you don't have time, skip marinating time it will only enhance flavour).

Preheat the oven to 200c . Take the chicken out of the fridge.

Spread the marinated chicken in one layer on a large lined baking sheet pan. Grill for 45-50 minutes. For a more browned, crispier chicken, move the pan to the top rack and broil for 5 minutes (keep an eye carefully it may take less time depends on oven) Remove from the oven.

Assemble the shawarma platter, Place pita breads on side, add few dips , I used tzatziki sauce, homemade hummus. Pickles I prepared at home, turnips, cabbage, onions. Small or sliced gherkins, sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and few lemon slices.
