2 lbboneless skinless chicken breasts
cut into 1-inch pieces
½ cupcornstarch
1 tspsalt
½ tspground black pepper
½ tsponion powder
¼ tspground cumin
¼ cupwater
2 Tbspvegetable oil

Step 1
To make the sauce, add water, light brown sugar, hoisin sauce, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ½ tsp garlic powder and ground ginger to liquid measuring cup and whisk to combine.
Step 2
To make chicken, combine cornstarch, salt, ground black pepper, ½ tsp garlic powder, onion powder and ground cumin in glass container with lid. Add chicken, seal lid and shake gently to coat chicken. In large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Working in batches, add chicken in single layer and sear two minutes per side until golden brown.
Step 3
Add chicken to slow cooker; stir in sauce. Cook on low 1 hour and 30 minutes (safe internal temp. 165°F). Serve with rice, broccoli and desired toppings. Refrigerate any leftovers.
