Instructions

Step 1
Chop the chicken into chunks, slice the onion and grate the ginger and garlic. Ideally, marinate the chicken in the dry spices overnight.
Step 2
Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker, (apart from the cornflour, water, almonds and coriander) stir and season to taste. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 4-5 hours.
Step 3
Towards the end of the cooking time, mix the cornflour and water and stir into the slow cooker. Ideally whilst on the hob.
Step 4
Pick out the cloves and discard them, serve garnished with flaked almonds and fresh coriander.
Step 5
Serve with about 200g of cooked rice per person which will add 260 calories
