Instructions
Step 1
Form the onigiri by molding white rice with cheese on the inside. You can use a mold or use your hands to form the shape of the onigiri.
Step 2
Pan fry the onigiri over medium low heat in a pan with a bit of oil. You don’t need a lot of oil as rice will absorb a lot of it. You just need enough to crisp up the rice.
Step 3
In a separate pan, melt the butter.
Step 4
Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Step 5
Add in the soy sauce and honey. Allow for the sauce to caramelize and thicken over medium low heat.
Step 6
Once the sauce has thickened, coat the yaki onigiri in the sauce.
Step 7
Wrap with a nori sheet.
Step 8
