Instructions

Step 1
1. Clean the scallops and pat them dry with paper towels, then season them lightly with salt and pepper. 2. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. 3. Sauté the garlic until it is softened and translucent, about 3 minutes. 4. Add the scallops to the skillet and cook until they are lightly seared and just cooked through, turning once, about 4 minutes per side. 5. Transfer the scallops to a plate, cover to keep warm, and set them aside 6. Add the orange juice and zest to the skillet and stir to scrape up any cooked bits. 7. Spoon the sauce over the scallops and serve, garnished with the thyme.
